一排,一列。例子︰

A row of houses/ plants / people / animals

一排的房子/ 植物/ 人/ 動物。

We are sitting in the front/back row of the theatre.

我們坐在劇院的前/後排座位。

Row 亦可解作划船。例如︰

They have gone for a row to that island.

他們划船到那島去了。

Row 亦可解作爭吵,打架。香港南華早報South China Morning Post 在報導中美貿易磨擦時在標題上便用了Row 這詞︰

Could China-US trade row be Chinese President Xi Jinping’s biggest ever challenge?

中美貿易爭執會否成為中國國家主席習近平的最大未嘗過的挑戰呢?

Row 亦被解作很吵的聲音。

I can’t focus on my studies due to the row the builders are making.

我不能集中温習因為那些建築工人在制造嘈吵的聲音。

Row 用作動詞時可以解作爭吵。

My parents are rowing all the time.

我的父母經常爭吵。

美國人若在難以應付的情況中卻會經常彈出的一句︰a tough row to hoe

Teachers have a tough row to hoe in today’s schools.

今時今日的學校裏老師們都面對着難以應付的情況。
